Ever wanted to talk to anyone? Desperately! Wanted to share something silly, knowing the person might probably be in a totally opposite mood! It is then, you start to look for your own company. If he says you both are alike, you might as well talk out with yourself. A letter maybe? As soon as the word ‘letter’ comes to my mind, I promptly travel back to our conversation the other day..
It was one rainy afternoon when we sat by the window staring at each other. The rain, the window pane, the couch and his presence made the atmosphere all the more cozy and comfortable. He was the first one to break the silence.
“Will you make some hot coffee for me?”
“How about tea? Green Tea?”
“You and your ‘Green Teas’! Ok let’s have it today. But if I don’t like, coffee it is!”
“Yup!! Gimme 5 minutes!”
Saying so, I rose and went to the kitchen. He followed me in. I boiled the water, he kept teasing me and my Green Tea! Meanwhile he took out some cookies from the shelf and arranged them neatly in a plate. The tea was ready, and so were his disgusted looks! He gave a queasy look to the boiled water and the green leaves floating in the kettle. But seeing my excitement, he readily took the tray and neatly placed the kettle, cups and the plate with cookies. He carried the tray to the living room and placed it on the side table besides the couch.
I poured the yellow-green water into his mug! He said nothing, and lifted the cup. The temperature was falling, and the hot cups gave warmth to our cold palms.
He began narrating his experiences, and I was taken to his world. In between, I did notice him sipping onto the not-so-loved Green Tea, just for my sake! Made me fall in love with him all over again. The way he told about his childhood, it mesmerized and amazed me. As he talked with hand movements, I could see his well built forearms! His tanned body would drive me crazy! I kept listening to him for a few endless hours…
Suddenly he interrupted me by placing a cookie into my mouth, so much that I almost choked! Knowing his weak point, I began tickling him. It was fun travelling back to childhood days! When jumping onto each other was not termed indecent behavior!
The last sip from the cup brought me back to reality, where everything was same.. The rain. The window pane. The couch. The side table. And his presence in my thoughts, ever’GREEN’!!
